Kolkata: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have rescheduled the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) CBT 2 exam for certain centers where the test could not be conducted on March 19, 2025, due to unexpected technical issues. The affected shifts of RRB ALP 2025 exam (Shift 1 and Shift 2) will now be conducted on a new date, which will be announced soon by RRBs. Qualifying candidates are advised to regularly check the official RRB website or studyriserr.com for the latest updates on the rescheduled exam date.
The official notice mentioned: Due to unforeseen technical issues, the test scheduled on March 19, 2025 (Shift 1 and 2) is being revised for centers where the exam got cancelled. The new RRB ALP CBT 2 exam date will be announced shortly.
RRB ALP CBT 2 exam was originally scheduled for March 19 and 20, 2025. The exam consists of two parts: Part A with 100 questions and exam will be 90 minutes long, while Part B with 75 questions and duration will be 60 minutes. The total exam duration will be 2 hours and 30 minutes, and it will be conducted in English, Hindi, and 12 regional languages. There will be negative marking, with 1/3rd marks deducted for each wrong answer and +1 will be rewarded for every correct answer. Marks will also be normalized for exams held in multiple shifts.
The RRB ALP admit card was released on March 15, 2025, and the city slip was available to download earlier, on March 11, 2025.
To qualify for the next stage of the recruitment process, candidates must meet specific criteria. In Part A, the minimum pass percentage required is 40% for UR/EWS, 30% for OBC (NCL)/SC, and 25% for ST. For Part B, all candidates, regardless of category, must score at least 35% to qualify. However, only the marks obtained in Part A will be considered for shortlisting candidates for the next stage of the recruitment process. This means that while performing well in both parts is essential, the focus for advancement will be on the scores achieved in Part A. In short, candidates successfully passed the CBT 1 exam are eligible to appear for the ALP CBT 2 exam.
